Why hello there

hello hello,
I have a few exciting opportunities coming up in the very near future. One is photography 5+ families at Onepoto park for minisessions (eeekk). After posting Julie's pregnancy session it gained interest from her friends so she being completly fabulous organised this experience for me. She is even so amazing she let me do a practice run with her stunning children. How 'm going to keep limited to the timeframe is super hard for me to fathum though!. The next super exciting experience and privilage I will be having is to photography my beautiful friend Ninette and her lovely finance Andre. They will be having a session before they jump ship and marry in their homeland-South Africa.

I have been such a slacker at studying at the moment (but practicing daily non- the less) and I found out about the free extention of 6months to a year- that is a weight lifted off my shoulders and less pressure which is fantastic.

I have had a fantastic past week with spending time doing photography, having a Canadian thanksgiving dinner, partying with lovely people and then having a wonderful roadtrip to see my beautiful friend Amber who was over from Australia for the weekend. Here are a few whots from the week that was xx

Pregnancy Beauty

My best friend Julie is absolutely glowing with her 4th baby on its way! She was a good sport as I popped her out on the deck with props in hand and luckily my odd photo concentrating facials entertained her to know end- as did her beautiful children running all around the place. They got in on the shoot also- Leah and the twins make my heart swell. I was also so super duper lucky to have my sis back to help me wrangle Avera while I concentrated on the job at hand- I now understand why people have assistants!

Kia Ora> Arrivals!

Waiting .... waiting ... waiting..... with such anticipation my baby sister walked through the arrival gates at Auckland Airport. It has been 5 and a half months since she left on her spectacular O>E with her partner Gus. We missed her more than she can imagine but she had a wonderful, life changing time and has deffinitly caught the "travel bug". Here are a few shots from her first day back in N.Z.
P.S:
Isnt she stunning!?

Guess What???

Just a quick note, go ahead and have a click on a photo on the post- the small albums are enlarged and look even more effective on a black background.
P.S
Can you see that the lucky bamboo shadow actually looks like a Chinese Dragon?

It feels like Summer

My oh My I have been a very slack tart documenting on this blog, apologies.
I have been taking care of my wee poppet who has had tonsilitis and a horrendus gastro bug at the same time- so not fair! The gastro bug has practically wiped everyone out pretty nasty. I am very much looking forward to next week- having *touch wood* health and hapiness in the household. My younger sister/ best friend is coming home from her Overseas Adventure next week and we are beyond excited to squeeze her. You may notice the little gorgeous button in the third photography, Avera had a wee play date with our little friend from daycare Lulu& her lovely mama Judy, I just couldnt resist getting a few snaps of this beautiful girl. I can't wait to in the future get a snapshot of her infectious smile, she is just stunning.

I have also been plodding along with the Photography Institute- not working hard enough though- I really do need to get these modules out. The assignment was all about Depth of Field and the relationship between ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed.I got a 90% ( they say 9/10- but geeez 90% sounds waaaay better!) for my this assignment which I was very happy with, there was paperwork also but this was my submitted piece....

Auckland Zoo

Today Avera experienced her first ever trip to the zoo. The zoo definitly is on my top ten fav list of "where I'd like to be". She had an absolute blast, she especially liked Burma the elephant who stomped by us on his daily stroll with the zoo keeper. Here a few of my favourite shots from today.

On a side not, I was super excited the other day to win the LoveKraft facebook photo competition. It was run through a prop buy and sell photography page and I won $15 of prop vouchers from the lovely  LoveKraft.

Forced Perspective

In a moment inspired by Pin-interest ( yes for some reason I can't get my mind around that its called pinterest) and a technique of forced perspective I created this image. With the help of my sister holding the flower and my niece holding a ballet-esque pose we made this together -team effort!
